Intensive inspection posted P3-M increase in revenues...
MANDALUYONG BFP HITS 2013 FIRE CODE FEES COLLECTION TARGET AS EARLY AS 3RD QUARTER

By: Winston Jay

Intensive fire safety inspection of virtually all establishments in the city has resulted to a remarkable increase in fire code fees collection for the first three quarters of 2013 of Mandaluyong City Fire Station, moreover, hitting its annual target of P14-million as early as September this year.

Mandaluyong City Fire Station headed by Maj. Nahum Tarroza and FSES chief
Capt. Roberto Samillano, Jr. during the distribution and turn-over of
relief goods and other donations for Yolanda victims to Sagip Kapamilya
of ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc.
In a report submitted to City fire marshal, Chief Insp. Nahum B. Tarroza, city fire safety enforcement section chief, Sr. Insp. Roberto Samillano, Jr. said that from January to Sepetember 2013 a total of P14,849,954.76 fire code fees has been collected by the city fire station.

Samillano said that compared to the same period last year which has a total collection of P11,811,860.76, a remarkable increase of P3,038,094 has been recorded by the city fire station or a variance of 20.45%.

He added that excluding the remaining collection for the last quarter of 2013, as early as end of September this year the city fire station has already hit its target collection which is P14,000,000.

“It is a win-win position for the fire bureau and for the public at the same time. Increasing our fire code fees collection means that more and more establishments were inspected which equates to an even safer environment,” Tarroza said.

Fire code fees are collected as part of the provisions of RA 9514 or the fire code of the Philippines which generate funds for the enhancement and modernization of the national and local fire services.
