The Bureau of Fire Protection -National Headquarters absorbed 422 new firefighters with the rank of Fire Officer 1 (FO1) after successfully passing the qualifications and the recruitment procedures intended for the position.
The first and second batch of recruits took their oath last Tuesday, July 2, 2014, while the rest of the recruits took their oath yesterday at the BFP National Headquarters in Quezon City.
As of today, more than 70 recruits are still on the process of complying some of the requirements to finally complete the 500 FO1 allocations in the National Headquarters alone.
BFP Officer-in-Charge F/CSUPT CARLITO S ROMERO administered the oathtaking of the newly-absorbed FO1. BFP personnel and families of the recruits witnessed the event.
In his speech, General Romero emphasized the benefits as well as the struggles of being a firefighter. He said that being a firefighter requires mental, emotional and physical strength and stability in order to perform different tasks efficiently. “Remember, you are not civilians anymore. You are no longer ordinary persons. You are now extraordinary because people will be relying on you. From now on, you will save lives,” he added.
The said recruits will be distributed to BFP regional offices nationwide to render On-the-Job training while waiting for the schedule of Fire Basic Recruit Course at the National Fire Training Institute in Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba, Laguna.
The Bureau will conduct another set of recruitment before the end of this year through the attrition program for continuous augmentation of the organization’s workforce.
The said recruitment is one of the priority programs of DILG Secretary MAR ROXAS to support the modernization program of the BFP that will address the demand of quality and reliable fire protection and safety services. //BFP-PIS

BFP INVESTIGATION!

Presidential Decree 1829 (OBSTRUCTION OF APPREHENSION AND PROSECUTION OF
Isinasaad sa Resolusyon mula sa Office of the City
cor. Jupiter at Polaris Streets, Brgy. Bel-Air, Makati City.
Ilang minuto, matapos maideklarang fire-out ang
“ON” position.
Purgatorio at Sgt.
Dagliang sinundan nina Capt. Purgatorio at Sgt.
“OFF” position na.
BASEHAN NG KASONG ISINAMPA LABAN KAY REYES : Section 1. The penalty of prison
correccional in its maximum period, or a fine ranging from 1,000 to 6,000
pesos, or both, shall be imposed upon any person who knowingly or willfully
obstructs, impedes, frustrates or delays the apprehension of suspects and the
investigation and prosecution of criminal cases by committing any of the
following act(s):
(b) altering,
destroying, suppressing or concealing any paper, record, document, or object,
with intent to impair its verity, authenticity, legibility, availability, or
admissibility as evidence in any investigation of or official proceedings in,
criminal cases, or to be used in the investigation of, or official proceedings
in, criminal cases;
